FAQ
How is position size calculated with fees?
Units = risk budget ÷ (|entry − stop| + entry × opening fee + stop × closing fee). With a $1,000 balance, 1% risk, a $100 entry, a $98 stop and 0.055% per fill, that is about 4.7418 units: about $9.48 of price loss plus about $0.52 of fees, or $10.00 in total.
Does leverage change how much I can lose?
Not in this calculation. The risk budget and the stop set the position size. Leverage only changes the margin locked for that position. Higher leverage moves the liquidation price closer, which this tool does not model.
Why can my real loss be bigger than the planned loss?
A stop is an order, not a guarantee. Slippage, spread, price gaps, partial fills, funding, liquidation and maintenance-margin rules, mark-price triggers and tax are all outside this estimate.
Which fee should I enter?
The rate your own account shows for that exact product and order type. A stop that executes as a market order is usually charged the taker rate. The 0.055% default is a hypothetical example.
